It is recommended to replace mattress covers every 1-2 years. Replace them immediately if they are used frequently or show obvious stains, damage, or loss of waterproofing.
During daily use, although mattress covers do not directly contact the skin, sweat, dander, and dust mites can still accumulate, especially when used without a sheet. Regular replacement effectively ensures sleep hygiene and prevents bacterial growth and allergen buildup.
Replacement Cycle Reference:
Standard Protective Type (Pure Cotton, Bamboo Fiber): Recommended replacement every 1-2 years. Machine-washable models can last up to 2 years.
Waterproof and Mite-Proof Type (TPU Film, Mite-Proof Fabric): The functional layer ages over time; replace within 2 years to ensure stable waterproof and antibacterial performance.
Padded/Latex Composite Type: Due to the filling material's tendency to clump and reduce resilience, it is recommended to replace within 1.5 years to maintain comfortable support.
Tips to extend the lifespan of the TPU film:
Regular cleaning: Machine wash every 3 months, using water below 60℃ to protect the material.
Avoid direct sunlight: Air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area to prevent the TPU film from becoming brittle and cracking.
Use with bed sheets: Reduce direct friction and slow down wear and tear.
