Judging the quality of a mattress cover requires a comprehensive evaluation from four dimensions: material, craftsmanship, functionality, and testing standards. High-quality products should balance protection, comfort, and durability.
1. Material and Feel
High-quality products: The fabric is delicate and skin-friendly, such as Class A pure cotton, Tencel, bamboo fiber, and other natural materials. They have no pungent chemical odor, and the reverse side is soft and elastic.
Inferior products: They feel rough, have a noticeable plastic feel, or are itchy. Prolonged contact may cause skin discomfort.
2. Functional Performance Testing
Waterproofing: A simple test can be performed-drop water onto the surface. High-quality TPU-coated mattress covers should exhibit a "lotus leaf effect," with water droplets rolling off without penetration; inferior products are prone to leakage.
Breathability: High-quality mattress covers use microporous membrane technology, maintaining a hydrostatic pressure ≥30kPa while maintaining a breathability ≥30mm/s, preventing stuffiness and sweating at night.
Antibacterial and Anti-mite: Products with international certifications (such as Swiss Sanitary) are preferred, with an antibacterial rate ≥90%, remaining effective after 50 washes. Physical mite prevention requires a pore size <10 microns to prevent dust mites from penetrating.
3. Workmanship and Structural Details
Sewing: Even and fine stitches, no skipped stitches or loose threads, firmly bound edges, and reinforced corners to prevent cracking.
Elastic Band Design: 360° wide elastic band with strong resilience (tensile elasticity recovery rate ≥80%), suitable for mattresses 5–35cm thick, preventing shifting and sliding.
Full-coverage Structure: Models with concealed zippers or envelope-style openings are recommended for easy removal and washing and good sealing.
