Different pillow materials require specific care methods to extend their lifespan and ensure hygienic sleep. Below are cleaning and care guidelines for mainstream pillow materials:
1. Latex Pillow
Cleaning: Hand washable, avoid machine washing. Dilute a neutral detergent (such as baby shampoo), gently wipe surface stains with a soft cloth, rinse with water, and pat dry with a towel.
Sun Drying: Do not expose to direct sunlight. Air dry naturally in a cool, ventilated place to prevent UV rays from causing the latex to oxidize, yellow, and harden.
Daily Maintenance: Use a pillowcase, ventilate regularly, and avoid pressure from heavy objects or scratches from sharp objects.
Replacement Cycle: 3–5 years. Replace promptly if significant deformation, hardening, or odor develops.
2. Memory Foam Pillow
Cleaning: Do not wash with water. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth dipped in neutral detergent, then wipe clean with a damp cloth and air dry. Airing: Avoid direct sunlight. Place in a well-ventilated area to air dry once a week to prevent dampness and dust mite growth.
Daily Maintenance: Avoid heavy pressure and high temperatures to prevent material aging.
Replacement Cycle: 1-2 years. If the support decreases or the rebound slows down, consider replacement.
